Eye of the Storm Slot Review

A new slot from Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom, and while the design and visuals look really good it is a bit disappointing.

The new Eye of the Storm slot comes in after Dragon Kingdom – Eyes of Fire and Madame Destiny Megaways, so it has to do something better so it can stand out against these 2 sequels with a long reputation from Pragmatic Play.

Eye of the Storm is a high volatile slot with a standard 3 rows and 5 reels design, set with an ancient Egypt theme.

It has a 96.71% RTP, which is a normal % for an RTP in 2021 for new slot releases, and a 1000x maximum win potential, which is a bit low in our opinion for a high volatile slot.

The premium symbols in the slot are connected with the ancient Egyptian theme and the low pay symbols are the well-known J to A symbols without the 10.

As in for pay, the symbols have the following paytable.

  • Eye of Horus – Pays 50x the bet for 5 on a payline
  • Cheetah – Pays 40x the bet for 5 on a payline
  • Bird – Pays 30x the bet for 5 on a payline
  • Scarab – Pays 25x the bet for 5 on a payline
  • Ankh – Pays 20x the bet for 5 on a payline
  • Folding Fan – Pays 20x the bet for 5 on a payline
  • The Ace, King, Queen, and Jack Playing Cards – Each pays 10x the bet for 5 on a payline

The Wild Symbol appears only on the 2nd,3rd, and 4th reel, so it doesn’t have a separate pay since players can’t have a full line with it.
The Scatter symbol is shown as a pyramid and by landing 3 or more scatters, the free spins feature will be triggered. It also has a pay of 50x, 20x, and 2x the bet when landing 5, 4, or 3 scatters.

The free spins feature in Eye of the Storm is very similar to some older slots, Eye of Horus from Merkur or Pharaohs Tomb from Novomatic. Players will start with 12 free spins and on each wild landing on the reels, they will receive an extra spin and a symbol upgrade.

Players can bet from 0.10 up to 250 per spin and the maximum win is 1000x the bet, so the slot can pay up to 250.000 euros with a max bet/max win combo.

While the visuals might be something new, the game itself is just another copy of an old popular slot with the maximum win smaller than on most of the old ones.

Eye of the Storm was released on the 8th of February 2021 and it is available on all Pragmatic Play Casinos.
